Today is a good day. Wait, you know what? Scratch that. Today is a friggin' great day!
Why's that? Not only is the weather really nice outside, but both the Phillies and the Flyers won today in spectacular games.
To start, the Phillies won in the last inning thanks to a two-run homer by Raul Ibanez. As if this last minute comeback wasn't enough, the shot into right field was capped by none other than a recording of Harry Kalas and his characteristic "OUTTTTAAA HEEERRRRREEEE." Needless to say, hearing this sent shivers down my spine. No joke.
Then, when I thought that nothing more could complete the day, I realized that the Flyers were on. Down 2-0 in their conference quarterfinals against the Penguins, it wasn't looking too good for the Flyers in the series. But, when I feared that all hope was lost, the spirit of the Broad St. Bullies was revived and Philadelphia would end up beating their fierce adversaries, 6-3. It was an incredible game full of bone-rattling hits, precision slapshots and the occassional right hook.
